Change of Institution/Course Pair

For whom

This route is for students who wish to enrol in a course and/or Higher Education institution other than the one in which they enrolled in previous academic years. Students may apply if:

  • They were registered and enrolled in a different Institution/Course pair and did not complete it;
  • Have completed secondary education or legally equivalent qualification and taken the national exams or equivalent to the entrance exams set for that course at the University of Évora, for the academic year for which they are applying, within the scope of the National Admission Competition. Note : national exams can be taken in any academic year;
  • They have obtained the minimum classification required for the desired course in the National Access Route exams, in the year in which they are applying.

In addition to the entry requirements for changing the Institution/Course pair and the regulation and admission requirements to which candidates are subject under this arrangement for acceptance and admission to the degree in Music at UÉ, candidates must register in advance and pass the Vocational Aptitude Test (PAVE).

The application grade for access to the special competition cannot be lower than the minimum grade for access through the General Access Regime defined in the Rector's Order  for the year to which the application refers.

 

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted online using the appropriate form. You will, however, first be required to register on the website .

You must submit the following documents , in electronic format:

  • Document proving enrollment/registration at the Higher Education institution of origin, indicating the admission regime (not applicable to UÉ students);
  • A certificate confirming you have passed the curricular units (not applicable to UÉ students) indicating the ECTS credits, the scientific areas, and your grades;
  • Regulations for the creation of the course in which you were enrolled/enrolled, published in Diário da República;
  • Declaration issued by the educational institution of origin, of the non-lapse of registration for the academic year to which you are applying (not applicable to students from the UÉ or students from foreign Higher Education Institutions). Note : it can only be delivered at registration, but it will be conditioned to its delivery;
  • One of the following documents, depending on the student's situation:
  • Document proving the approval in the national Secondary Education exams, corresponding to the admission tests set by the UÉ under the General Access Regime for the course to which you are applying, with the respective classifications (ENES form or equivalent document issued by DGES);
  • Supporting Documents pursuant to Articles 16 and 17 of the Regulation for Applications for Access and Admission to the University of Évora, in the case of students whose entry into Higher Education has been carried out as holder of non-Portuguese Secondary Education courses and/or through special access contests;
  • Document proving exception to international student status in case you have nationality from a country outside the European Union but are covered by one of the cases in which this status does not apply (Decree-Law no. 62/2018, of 6 of August and in Article 49 of the Regulation for Applications for Access and Admission to the UÉ).

Applications will only be reviewed after the application fee has been paid.

If you are applying to the direct route for a degree in Music, you must register in advance and pass the Vocational Aptitude Test (PAVE)  . You will automatically be considered for this route if you have indicated this in your PAVE application. However, the application must be validated (without paying additional fees) within the time frame for this arrangement.

 

Validation of documents

The documents included in the application are submitted for validation by the Academic Services of the University of Évora, and this submission must be made possible by the candidates who will be placed, by complying with the following procedures.

1.  Submission of the qualification documents for validation , which can be done in one of the following ways, within 30 (thirty) consecutive days of enrolment:

a) In person, at the SAC, by presenting the original documents that were submitted digitally in the application;

b) By registered mail with acknowledgement of receipt, by sending a certified copy of the original documents. The documents must be certified by a national public entity, CTT, Notaries, Lawyers, Solicitors, Registry Offices, Parish Councils, or Chambers of Commerce and Industry, in accordance with the combined provisions of article 363 of the Civil Code and article 38 of Decree-Law no. 76-A/2006, of May 29, as amended;

c) By registered mail with acknowledgement of receipt, by sending the original documents that were submitted digitally in the application, and the University of Évora cannot be held responsible, under any circumstances, for the loss of documents. The originals will be returned to the student in person, when they present themselves at the SAC.

2. Present the identification document , as referred to above in points a) or b), by October 31st of the academic year of enrollment, and international students must also present the corresponding visa.

3.  Applicants placed on a bachelor's or integrated master's degree course subject to pre-requisites must, by October 31st of the academic year of enrolment, submit the pre-requisite form  made available by DGES , in accordance with paragraph 1 a) above, duly completed by the doctor registered with the Portuguese Medical Association and inserted at the time of online enrolment.

No proof of enrolment, certificate of achievement or certification document may be issued until the documents have been validated in accordance with the provisions of this article.

Failure to comply with the above deadlines and procedures will result in the annulment of the placement and registration, and the candidate will lose the right to the place

 

If you register, but do not pay the first installment of tuition fees and/or do not validate your documents within the deadlines defined for this purpose, the registration will be canceled, but the fees are not cancelled, leaving you in debt. If you intend to withdraw from the Course, you will have to an application at SIIUE, being considered the debtor of tuition fees in accordance with the deadlines and terms defined in the University Tuition Regulations .

Until enrollment is completed, payment of the 1st installment of tuition fees and documents are made available, neither an acceptance letter nor proof of enrollment or any certification document will be issued.

In case of ties, the tie-breaking criteria will be applied under the terms of article 10 of the Regulation for Applications for Access and Admission to the UÉ.

 

Enyrance Exams for 2025/26 and 2026/27

Under the terms of article 21 of Decree-Law no. 296-A/98, ofSeptember 25, in conjunction with articles 18 and 20, the National Commissionfor Access to Higher Education (CNAES) is responsible for setting the list ofentrance exams, at the proposal of the higher education institutions, whereby thenumber of exams required for admission to each institution/course pair may notbe less than two and more than three. Competent body of the higher educationinstitution, authorize that, for certain institution/course pairs, the numberof lists be increased to a maximum of six.

In this context, and following the introduction of therequirement that the number of exams required for admission to eachinstitution/study cycle pair cannot be less than two and more than three,Decree-Law no. 64-A/2023 of July 31 three, by Decree-Law no. 64-A/2023, of July31, which made the tenth amendment to Decree-Law no. 296-A/98, of September 25,in its current wording, with article 34 of that Decree-Law providing that thechanges relating to the number of entrance exams and the resulting formula forcalculating the application classification are applicable to applications tohigher education for access and admission from the 2025/2026 academic yearonwards.

Entry Requirements

(i) Candidates submitting applications for courses that have prerequisites  must meet those requirements and submit documentary evidence when enrolling.
(ii) Candidates are not allowed to request a change of Institution/Course pair in the academic year in which they were placed in a Higher Education Institution/course pair under any acceptance and admission arrangement, and in which candidates have registered and enrolled.

Applicants for course change who have approved to 35 ECTS in curricular units of the course they are applying for or in their scientific area, the same will be considered for the 1st curricular year  of the respective course, being this regime subject to vacancies. If you have 36 ECTS or more than 36 ECTS, the application will be considered for subsequent years  of the respective courses, and this regime may be subject to vacancies in accordance with the provisions of this regulation.
