University of Évora Volunteering Program

 

Volunteering is a practice that promotes well-being and personal fulfillment,serving as a factor that encourages and supports positive changes at all levels.It is important for the academic community to actively engage in actions thatpromote social responsibility and contribute to the sustainable development ofsociety.

 

 

 

The Volunteering Program is intended for the entire academic community of theUniversity of Évora, including students, former students, employees, retiredemployees, and emeritus staff who are interested in collaborating in volunteeractivities.The volunteering promoted by UÉvora consists of a set of educational, social, orcommunity-oriented actions carried out freely, selflessly, in solidarity,participatively, responsibly, and without financial gain. These actions are framedwithin volunteer projects, programs, or other forms of intervention aimed ataddressing individual, institutional, or general academic community needs,developed on a non-profit basis.The main objectives of UÉvora’s Volunteering Program are:

  • a) To promote, participate in, and/or support volunteer activities of educational,social, or community interest, carried out in a selfless, responsible, free, andsupportive manner;
  • b) To formalize cooperation partnerships with volunteer-promoting entities withinthe community;
  • c) To promote personal development and training;
  • d) To equip UÉvora students with practical and theoretical skills that, althoughnot directly related to their academic training, will prove useful throughout theiracademic and professional paths;
  • e) To encourage the participation and involvement of all individuals connected to UÉvora: students, former students, employees, retired employees, andemeritus staff;
  • f) To contribute to the development of social and civic responsibility andinterpersonal relationship skills;
  • g) To promote personal and collective learning, enabling self-fulfillment for thosewho make up the academic community of UÉvora;
  • h) To encourage integration and participation within the internal structure andthe community;
  • i) To establish comprehensive dynamics for cooperation and social andcommunity development.
