Entrepreneurship

Driven by knowledge and innovation, entrepreneurship is a new approach to the world by engaging people and processes that, when combined, encourage opportunity assessment, the mobilisation of resources, risk taking, the implementation of innovative and successful initiatives, and the construction of ideas.

A startup is a newly created company that is still in the development stage. One of DECPT’s remits is to promote the creation of university startups.

EIT Health  is a European organisation funded under Horizon 2020 focused on improving the European healthcare system by leveraging new technologies.

The organisation finances applied research programmes, supports startups, training and innovation activities – targeting the digital health sector.

As a member of the EIT Health network, the University of Évora has implemented several acceleration initiatives in the region and promotes entrepreneurship and innovation by using new technologies in key areas of the health sector.

DECPT is responsible for planning and implementing all EIT Health-related activities.

Spin-offs are  companies that emerge as a result of research conducted in the academic world.
The new technologies and business ideas generated by a spin-off are supported by DECPT, both in terms of coaching and obtaining funding.
