Animal production and its optimization should be complemented with environmental damages minimization and without losses in the food chain. The MSc course in Zootechnical Engineering is approved by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education, fulfills the admission requirements to the Engineers Profissonal Organisation and aims the scientific and/or professional knowledge developing and updating, with the skills acquisition in the design and execution of projects in the areas of animal production, product transformation and quality, integrating the economy of production processes, the environmental quality, animal welfare and public health.
Entities associated with animal production and with the processing of their products and derivatives, the research, production or marketing of technologies, food, or animal equipment; entities providing services (projects, consulting, management); official planning bodies, regulation, administration or supervision of activities involving animals; Federations, Associations and Cooperatives of Producers; institutions of higher education or research.
Specific Entry Requirements
To this Master program can apply: holders of a bachelors degree (or legal equivalent) of courses in Agricultural, Veterinary or Biological Sciences, or related areas can apply for a Master's Degree in Zootechnical Engineering (2nd Cycle). Can also apply holders of foreign higher academic degree (1st Cycle) courses in the areas of Agricultural, Veterinary or Biological Sciences, or related areas, organized according to the guiding principles of the 'Bologna Process'.
