Course Overview

This programme, structured into five areas of specialisation, aims to train researchers and specialists in the fields of History, Heritage Studies, History of Science, and Museology, equipping them with advanced competences for the production of original, innovative, and high-quality scientific knowledge.
The programme ensures the acquisition and consolidation of conceptual and methodological tools appropriate to historical, heritage, museological, and History of Science research, while simultaneously promoting interdisciplinarity and the integration of methodologies from other scientific fields. It also aims to develop skills in critical analysis, historiographical problematisation, and the grounded interpretation of diverse historical realities.
Regarding transversal competences, the programme fosters the development of oral and written scientific communication skills, which are essential for careers in higher education, research, and specialised professional contexts. It also seeks to strengthen the ability to apply historical knowledge in diverse academic, institutional, and professional environments.
Furthermore, the programme promotes scientific autonomy and the capacity to relate historical experiences to contemporary challenges, particularly in the fields of governance, citizenship, and public policy. It also encourages the valorisation of history and memory as instruments of social cohesion, contributing to cultural and scientific development at local, regional, national, and international levels.
