Outside of Europe

There are different mobility programmes aimed at fostering mobility to countries outside of Europe. The Santander Scholarships support mobility between Latin-American countries, the Association of Portuguese Language Universities promotes mobility between institutions of Portuguese-speaking countries, and the Erasmus+ Programme, through the International Credit Mobility programme , supports mobility to higher education institutions (HEI) in countries outside of Europe. In addition to these programmes, mobility between the University of Évora and higher education institutions outside of Europe is also possible as long as there is an exchange protocol in place.

The Erasmus+ Programme supports Actions geared towards cooperation with partnership countries, giving inbound and outbound mobility students, academic and non-academic staff  the opportunity to learn, teach and/or train at higher education institutions (HEI) in countries outside of Europe, the so-called “programme countries" and "partner countries", and vice-versa. This is known as “International Credit Mobility”  and falls under key Action 1 – Erasmus+Mobility Programme. The following contracts are in place under this institutional project:

International Mobility is an opportunity for students to do part of their studies  and/or internship  in an institution/company/organisation outside of Europe (Outbound) or at the University of Évora (Inbound), through protocols signed between the University of Évora and other institutions across different continents. This opportunity not only adds value at academic and scientific level, enabling students to enrich their curriculum, but also at personal level.

First-cycle, second-cycle and Integrated Master students of the University of Évora can apply to the “Santander Universidades” Latin-American Scholarship Programme, under the conditions set out in the respective Regulation , to carry out a period of study at a partner university in a Latin-American country or in Spain, in particular Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and Spain.

This Programme follows from a specific cooperation arrangement between the University of Évora and Banco Santander that provides for the award of scholarships for Latin American countries and Spain and aims to help students pursue their education for one academic semester at a Latin-American university.

The purpose of the Santander “Global Mobility”  scholarships is to provide financial support in the amount of EUR 1,000 (one thousand euro) to students with financial limitations wishing to attend a mobility period of study at a foreign university.

Santander mobility scholarships may not be combined; however, they can be combined with other private or public grants or support .

  • They pass 50% of the course ECTS credits or at least 120 ECTS credits corresponding to the first two course years
  • They passed the academic year preceding the mobility, in accordance with the RAUÉ (Academic Regulations of the UÉ)
