Faculty and Staff Mobility

Academic and non-academic staff mobility is a fundamental enabler in the internationalisation of higher education institutions, as it enhances the European dimension and the quality of the higher education institution, linking institutions in different countries and offering the opportunity for personal and professional development.

Academic and non-academic staff members can carry out a mobility period at the University of Évora provided their higher education has a protocol/agreement with the University of Évora  in place in one of the following categories:

  • Academic Staff mobility:
  1. for teaching: at the University of Évora
  2. for training: professional development through training events (excluding conferences) at the University of Évora
  • Staff mobility
  1. on-the-job training or training events (excluding conferences)

CANDIDATES

Academic and non-academic staff who wish to undertake mobility must have an employment contract with one of the institutions part of the University of Évora in force for the year in which they wish to undertake mobility.

WHICH COUNTRY/HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION TO APPLY FOR

After selecting the country and higher education institution, you will be informed if the University of Évora has a protocol/agreement in place and the Mobility Programme/ Project under which you may carry out a mobility period at the University of Évora.

HOW TO APPLY

Once you have decided which mobility Programme/Project you would like to undertake, you must register in the UÉ Integrated Information System (SIIUE) to receive the access credentials for submitting the application.

If accepted, you will be notified to submit the Mobility Agreement (Teaching or Training Agreement) to formalise the mobility process. You may only undertake mobility after the Agreement has been signed by the University of Évora and the home institution.

  • Identification document (Passport/Citizen’s Card) / Identification (Passport)

If you are applying for ERASMUS+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) programmes, the following documents must also be submitted:

  • Motivation letter
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Declaration from your Institution authorising your mobility
  • Certificate of degree and/or transcript of records
  • Proof of language skills
  • Activity Plan

All parties (home institution, University of Évora and academic and non-academic staff) must sign the Mobility Agreement within no more than 30 days before the mobility period begins. Original copies of the documents do not need to be passed around for signature; scanned and electronic signatures are accepted.

On arriving at UÉ, you must go to the Mobility Support Office, at Rua Duques de Cadaval, Edifício de Santo Agostinho, so that they can sign your “Certificate of Attendance” (Certificate of Attendance ).

The grant assigned to eligible academic and non-academic staff in mobility under the ICM Programme/Project will only be paid by bank cheque after the Mobility Support Office signs the Certificate of Attendance.

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE

Before returning to their home institution, academic and non-academic staff must go to the Mobility Support Office so that they can sign and stamp their “Certificate of Attendance.

FINAL SURVEY FOR INTERNATIONAL CREDIT MOBILITY (icm) PROGRAMMES/PROJECTS)

After the mobility period, academic and non-academic staff must fill in the Final Survey, which they will receive by e-mail. Answering the Final Survey is compulsory .
