The Master's Degree in Conservation Biology (MBC-UÉ) provides students with advanced and integrated technical-scientific knowledge on pertinent issues in the management and conservation of biological resources. With a completion rate of 90% (16's editions) and a success rate (number of students who obtain the degree / number of students who wanted to obtain it) is around 80%. These results are an indicator of the success of MBC-UÉ, which offers its students the possibility of taking advantage of Erasmus + mobility. MBC-UÉ has contributed to the training of students from different countries Europe, South America, Africa and Asia, and its internationalization has been steadily increasing.

Environmental consultancy in the area of nature conservation in municipalities, associations of municipalities; technical support offices; environmental impact study companies; non-governmental organizations; Thematic parks; forestry, farming and hunting companies or associations; senior technicians in Ecology and Environment for central and regional administrations; Protected Areas offices; technical offices; entrepreneurship in tourism and nature activities; local development associations. Applied or fundamental scientific research in research centers, associated and public laboratories; IES. Secondary education: MBC-UÉ is recognised, for the purposes of article 54 of the Portuguese Statute of the Teaching Career (DL nº270 / 2009 of September 30), regulated by Ordinance nº344 / 2008 of April 30, for the recruitment group 520 of the 3rd cycle of primary and secondary education.
Specific Entry Requirements
1. Degree in an area relevant to Conservation Biology: ex. Biology, Environmental Sciences and Ecology, Agrarian and Animal Sciences, Forestry and Fisheries, Management of Natural Resources, Veterinary Medicine, Geography in the variant of Sustainable Development, Environmental Education, Ecotourism.
These and other 1st Cycle courses may be considered if they include in their study plans curricular units with contents in the main scientific areas of Biology and / or Ecology and Environment, including the respective sub-areas of both.
2. In the ranking, preference will be given to candidates whose grade in the 1st cycle is equal to or higher than thirteen (13) values (in 20).
