This seminar aims to examine the link between industrial heritage and social and economic development in the territory and urban contexts, questioning the role of local identity in re-development process. It also intends to examine the ways of integrating industrial heritage in cultural assets typology

Teaching Methods
This seminar incorporates a variety of instructional methods:
1. Lectures, followed by student-centered discussions;
2. On-site visits;
3. Case-studies;
4. Workshops.
For their assessment, students will produce an essay on the issues dealt with in the seminar, involving discussion of current ideas about approaches to industrial heritage and how they can be applied to local development, and the analysis of selected case studies.
