To enable students to structure steps in research, with the definition of temporal milestones associated with the production of published scientific contributions.
To encourage the student the self-analysis and critical spirit in order to present the research plan to an external jury.

Teaching Methods
- The Lecturing of this CU is tutorial with Thesis Advisors responsibility. Seminars will also be organized.
- Evaluation: A Thesis Plan document is presented that should contemplate at least the following three chapters: A) Introduction; B) State of the Art, planned Original Contributions and future work; C) Presentation and description of the methodologies proposed to approach the new studied theme.
The student presents the Thesis Plan in a public session, with the presence of a jury, consisting of a minimum of 3 elements, appointed by the Course Director. The jury will decide on the student's approval.
