Course Overview

The Study Plan proposed for the Geotechnical Training Course, not conferring a degree, but with attribution of credits, is based on its structure in the legislation in force, namely in the Academic Regulation of the University of Évora (Ministerial Order No. 3144/2019; Articles 158 to 166º; Diário da República, 2nd series - No. 57 - March 21, 2019). The Study Plan consists of 12 UCs of 3 and 6 ECTS each, for a total of 60 ECTS. The Course aims to complement the training in Engineering Sciences and Specialty Sciences, in order to fill the gaps in specialized subjects in the Geotechnical area, namely, Rock Mechanics, Soil Mechanics, Slope Stability, Industrial and Ornamental Rocks, Drilling , etc., identified in 1st cycle graduates, namely in the degree in Geology, Civil Engineering, among others. It aims to complete and update the academic or professional training of students, graduates and other professionals, as well as citizens in general, through the learning and development of scientific and technical knowledge in specific aspects. The regional environment constitutes a natural laboratory where theoretical subjects can be tried, tested and evaluated in field work and / or in companies. The connection of the Department of Geosciences of the University of Évora to companies is consolidated in 35 collaboration protocols and 17 companies associated with teaching.
