This degree focuses on training that favours the use of natural resources. The biotechnological way of producing certain goods is becoming increasingly competitive, especially in areas such as pharmaceuticals, food, agroindustry, agrochemicals and environmental control, and biotechnology-based companies are recognised as fundamental poles of sustainable development.
The educational project was built on the basis of accumulated experience and consultation with other national and international organisations, which has made it possible to develop a comprehensive, articulated and innovative concept that provides an integrated perspective and problem-solving skills in biotechnological processes in the areas of Chemistry, Agrochemistry, Health Sciences, Food Production and the Environment.
In addition to the laboratory component, there is also a project/internship in Biotechnology, integrated into the syllabus, which allows for the consolidation of knowledge and the development of transversal interpersonal, technical and scientific skills, relevant to the inclusion of its professionals in the labour market.
