Learning Goals

This Curricular Unit (CU) aims to develop diagnostic assessment skills, using a taxonomy and measurement tools that are sensitive to nursing care and that take into account the individual and socio-family perspective, as well as the skills needed to plan specialized interventions in mental health nursing with a person, group or family with impaired mental health.
We expect students to be able to:
- Understand the characteristics of clinical nursing reasoning
- Understand critically a model of diagnostic evaluation in mental health and psychiatry nursing considering the individual and socio-family perspective;
- Conduct a clinical interview;
- Critically analyze the data resulting from the interview and define an initial diagnostic framework;
- Plan care based on the diagnosis.

Teaching Methods

Expository-participatory method using the experience of the student group.
Clinical interview training in simulated environment, with role play and mirroring techniques
Assessment: Academic group work (80%) and presentation of the work (20%).
