Learning Goals

It is intended that the student acquires knowledge about the economic importance; morphology; growth and development; edapho-climatic requirements; and cultural techniques of the following types of crops: cereals, oilseeds, protein crops, roots and tubers and stimulants. , ecological requirements and respective aptitude (cutting or grazing). It is expected that the knowledge acquired with this course will enable the student to choose the best option in terms of culture and cultural techniques for each situation of the different systems, aiming to produce in quantity and quality, always respecting the environment and preserving the natural resources of soil and water. .

Contents

Traditional field crops
Importance of the crops. Study methodology.
Study of the different types of crops: cereals (maize, rice, wheat , barley, oats, rye and triticale); oily crops (sunflower); pulses (chickpea); roots and tubers (sugar beet); stimulant crops (tobaco).
Pasture and forage crops
Importance of the crops and techniques for their establishment. Study of the main annual and perennial grass and legume species with forage and pasture aptitude.

Teaching Methods

Teaching will be performed as theorical-practical lectures that will begin with the presentation of the different topics to be discussed and complemented in the practical part with works or visits of study.
The evaluation of acquired knowledge will be done through 2 written tests. The final grade will be the average of the 2 tests. Or a final exam.
