It aims to contribute to the development of critical thinking skills and to reinforce advanced skills in the analytical and methodological domain regarding the components and stages of individual research processes, whether in the context of dissertation, project work or internship.

The curricular unit is organized in seminars, and aims to contribute to the development of critical thinking skills and to reinforce advanced skills in the analytical and methodological domain regarding the components and stages of individual research processes, whether in the context of dissertation, project work or internship for each master student. In specific terms, the skills to be acquired are:
- evaluate the applicability of theories and tourist methods for the development of the master's research work (dissertation, project work or internship);
- critically analyze the strategies on the development of an individual master's project leading to the dissertation, project work or internship;
- Operate original ideas for research in the field of tourism, in the context of dissertation, project work or internship at master's level.

Contents

There is no rigid curriculum content. The seminar sessions are mainly focused on framing and evaluating the student's autonomous work, particularly in terms of the development, presentation and discussion of materials related to the development of their individual research project, project work or internship. In this sense, the seminar sessions focus mainly on the following topics:
1: Research in Tourism, in different disciplinary areas
2: Methodological approaches for the development of the dissertation, project work or internship;
3: Research project proposals, project work or internship.

Teaching Methods

The unit will be taught by intensive seminar sessions, in person, and it may be possible to apply remote sessions on the university's e-learning platform. Mixed methods (expository and participatory) will be used depending on the approaches necessary for the development of the indicated skills.
