This course will provide an opportunity for the students to engage in a complete a laboratory research project or a computer based research project or an extended literature review and associated extension exercise.
It is expected that the students have:
Gained experience in the collation, analysis and presentation of scientific data.
Prepared and submitted a detailed report, in a scientifically acceptable format.
Developed skills in the appropriate and selective use of library resources.
Prepared and presented an oral presentation on the subject of individual project work and to answer questions on the topic area.
The competence to read critically a scientific paper and to identify the key features of the study.
The ability to prepare and give a short oral presentation describing the salient features of a research paper and to answer questions.
The competence to interpret data presented in scientific papers and to assess them critically in order to draw appropriate conclusions.
Gained an understanding of a broad range of subject areas in the biochemical sciences. Developed an ethical behavior both intellectual and professional.

Contents
Choosen / offered subject in any area of biochemical sciences. It consist in an individual project. This students to engage in a complete a laboratory research project or a computer based research project or an extended literature review and associated extension exercise
Teaching Methods
The student must have a guide and all monitoring will happen in a tutorial regime.
Three components will be assessed separately:
1) Laboratory skills;
2) Final report;
3) Oral presentation and discussion (with referee).
The final classification will be the average of the three components.
