Learning Goals

The classes aim to provide theoretical and practical references within the communication Design, in terms of the vector drawing and illustration, from the experimentation applied.
Stimulate visual perception through analysis and critical sense with functional and aesthetic criteria. Promote the individual creative abilities from the domain of tools for the design of practical exercises. Explore the application of plastic expression and manuals to vector drawing and paging, exploring the software Adobe Indesign and Adobe Illustrator.
Equip the student for a response to an advanced level and creative within the vector drawing for the implementation at the level of editorial design.

Contents

1. Experimentation:
Hand dawing and its potentialities on a digital platform; Applying creative options; Navigating through both softwares
2. Materials and its potentialities
3. New advanced solutions:
Illustrator: Advanced forms; Effects; Combined shapes and effects; Patterns;
InDesign: Options for text organization; Chapters, sections and pages
4. Text: Advanced options; Softwares relationship with text and typography; Tables, graphics and best way to manage enterprise data.; Relationship shapes and color.
5. Export documents: Gather material without losing important data; Preventing mistakes; Preview; Final Art; Finished PDFs
6. Production and Printing options

Teaching Methods

Based on a series of structured lessons using the practice of exercises, will be promoted in the new digital and traditional media. The evaluation is continuous with intermediate assessments and, at the end of the semester, the final evaluation in a jury model.

EVALUATION

In the NORMAL SEASON assessment students may choose one of two schemes: Continuous or Final Assessment.

1. CONTINUOUS EVALUATION SCHEME

Evaluation Components:
a) Class participation: 20%;
b) Work developed during the period with the accompaniment of the teacher, which must be submitted, at least, to a periodic evaluation with public disclosure of the classifications: 40%;
c) Presentation and defense of the work developed during the classes, which occurs during the "Regular Season Evaluations": 40%.


2. FINAL EVALUATION SCHEME

a) Work developed during the period with the teacher's accompaniment: 40%;
b) Examination based on the contents taught: 60%.
