Sustainable Development Goals

Learning Goals

Acquisition of instruments for methodological reflection and problematization of the discipline, for understanding the diversity of objects that integrate it (from the dramatic literature to the spectacular practices) and the different ways of approach that they request.
Promotion of students' contact with documentary and reference sources of this disciplinary field to frame their in-depth and autonomous work.
Recognition, from a historical perspective, of the line of evolution from the problematic of origins to the exemplarity of the theater of Classical Antiquity and its reinvention in the Renaissance, through the theatrical manifestations of the Middle Ages and pondering the consequences of Classicism in Europe.
Acquisition of frames of reference of theater culture (contemplating drama, actor, space and theater time) relative to the historical periods under study.

2. Theses on the origins of theater and the contributions of sociology and anthropology.

Teaching Methods

The teaching / learning process is fundamentally based on the autonomous work of the students, the in-depth comparison with the reference bibliography and their articulation with the contact time. These are theoretical-practical units, giving rise to the debate, the presentation and exposition of problems, the deepening of perspectives, thus involving the students in an active way. Research assignments, reviews and presentations are strategies to be favored in order to guarantee student involvement.
The evaluation aims to assess developed competences and acquired knowledge, considering its operation. On a continuous evaluation basis, the student should regularly present reviews and prepare presentations and interventions in context, as well as short assessment tests, following the sequence of the program. In the final exam, the student will take a final written exam. On a case-by-case basis, intermediate solutions may be considered and negotiated with students.
