The course purpose to introduce the thought of the image in the diversity of its nature, construction, organization,

provide an understanding of the processes of culture and visual communication as phenomena of construction,
perception, organization, representation and meaning of the senses and contents of human production,
knowledge, and society.
Students must identify communication and visual studies as fields of knowledge and discipline, having present
different theoretical and aesthetic currents and to know basic concepts-notions of image, visibility, visual
representation, visual experience, visual perception, figurative, imaginary.
This knowledge is primarily aimed at acquiring practical tools that enable students to exercise the underlying
analysis, interpretation, composition and construction of differentiated visual propositions and objects.
