Learning Goals
Provide the student with knowledge on digital image creation, editing and export, through the use of concepts
and techniques that allow him to understand the language of the digital image in the field of plastic arts and
multimedia and to master a set of elementary technological instruments, both experimental and conceptual,
necessary for a consistent artistic practice.
Skills to be acquired by the student:
- Know how to apply digital image editing tools in basic software;
- To understand and rehearse the work of composition, manipulation and creation of image in digital support;
- Know the formats and resolution of digital images suitable for different purposes such as offset printing,
home printing, Worl Wide Web publishing and projection;
Understand the digital image from an aesthetic and historical perspective, knowing how to contextualize it
within the field of the visual arts.

Contents
1. Analog and digital collage and photomontage throughout the history of art: Cubism, Futurism, Dada, political
propaganda, Surrealism, pop art, postmodernism and contemporary artists.
2. Composition: main theme and secondary elements; graphical weight; semantic weight; symmetries; stability;
dynamism; simplicity; Score; line; plan; forms; point of view and frameworks; perspective; rhythm; rule of
thirds; three elements; negative space.
3. Image import from camera, scanner or World Wide Web. Size, resolution and file format choice depending
on the purpose of the image: World Wide Web, offset and home printing; projection of images.
4. Digital image editing: correction of common problems; cut and transform; working with layers and selections;
colors and values of light-dark and their correction by means of layers of adjustment; combination of
multiple images; filters; typography, and; styles.
5. Export of digital image taking into account the resolution, color modes and dimensions, according to the
graphic or virtual medium - through which the image will be presented and disseminated.

Teaching Methods
The programme consists of exercises, theoretical presentations of the content and study visits. Assessment is continuous, taking into account: attendance; commitment; creativity; progress, and mastery of knowledge. There will be continuous assessment tests and a final assessed by a jury made up of the subject teacher and course teachers.
In the NORMAL SEASON, students can opt for Continuous Assessment or Final Assessment. In the APPEAL, SPECIAL and EXTRAORDINARY SEASONS, students are guided by the Final Assessment system.

a) Class participation: 20%;
b) Work carried out in under the supervision of the teacher and submitted to at least one periodic assessment: 40%;
c) Presentation and defence of work done in class: 40%.
- Final classification: sum of a), b) and c).

a) Work carried out in under the supervision of the teacher: 40 per cent;
b) Test on the subject content: 60%.
