		  		      Give the student an applied education in the various technologies of liquid and solid waste treatment and management. Ability to work in team.
		  		
	  Contents
		  		      Introduction to the problem of waste. Definition of waste and type of waste. Solid and liquid waste. Waste management: Survey, characterization, collection (select and storage), transport, treatment (incineration, pyrolysis-gasification, and others) and disposal of waste;
Recycling and recovery. Technologies of storage and waste processing.Relevant legislation.

Teaching Methods
		  		      2 hrs of weekly theoretical lessons transmitting fundamentals and concepts, complemented with seminars.
Practical lecturing will consist in lab classes, field work and study visits with the presentation of reports.
Continuous evaluation: the practical group work will contribute with 50%, and a test will contribute with 50%
Final examination: one sole proof on all the lectured matter that scores 100%
