Learning Goals

The discipline of Sport Psychology, aims to study human behavior in different contexts of practice potential inherent in the sport in its broad concept. Provides students with skills of perception, interpretation and intervention for the phenomena related to individuals and groups from which is likely to intervene.
Students should:
Knowing the psychological mechanisms involved in physical activity in their cognitive, affective and behavioral;
Describe and explain the results of research in psychology of sport and exercise;
Have the ability to evaluate, analyze and interpret individual and group phenomena, in particular with regard to its psychological impact on sports participation in the process;
Knowing strategies for personal interaction involved in optimizing the management of behaviors of individuals and groups;
Know techniques of emotional and behavioral regulation, promoting individual autonomy, generalizable to life experiences.

Contents

1 - Presentation and introduction to sports psychology
2- The intervention of the psychologist in sport. Evolution. Functions.
3 - Knowledge of the practitioner and the dossier of the athlete. Collecting and recording information.
4- The psychological assessment in sport.
5 - Personality and sport. The relationship between personality and sports.
6 - The motivation and the context of sport. The motivational orientation. The increases and intrinsic motivation.
7 - The emotional processes. Stress, anxiety and activation. The self-confidence.
8 - The relationship coach - athlete. The affective and instrumental aspects.
9 - The group and team dynamics. Group cohesion and leadership processes.
10 - The psychology of exercise. Exercise and specific populations.
11 - The psychological training.
12 - The training of psychological skills. The concentration and imagery
13 - The physiological training and strategies
14 - A model of psychological intervention.

Teaching Methods

The classes take place over a semester, once a week. Each will last one hundred and twenty minutes under continuous evaluation. There will be approximately 15 sessions of work.

Realization of a written examination on the subject treated in the course. Minimum score of 9,5.
