Learning Goals

To develop the study, reflection and debate between teachers and students about relations between Literature and Cinema, trying to find thematic and aesthetic correspondences between literary and cinematographic works

Contents

1. Theoretical principles towards analyzing the relationship between literature and cinema.
2. Literary narrative and film narrative: adaptation, appropriation, recontextualization and their limits.
3. Literary and filmic analysis (case studies): adaptation strategies, convergences and divergences.
4. From cinema to literature: the script as a literary genre.

Teaching Methods

Use of multidisciplinary practices to stimulate transdisciplinary perspectives; placement of programmatic information in discussion with students; viewing documentaries, films and other cultural expressions that complement the reading of literary and critical reference works. Evaluation: Students active participation and presence in classes; research abilities; reading and viewing practices; involvement in cultural activities; the quality of written essays and oral presentations in classes (1written test - 50% + 1 written and oral research work - 50%). Students can also sit 1st or 2nd call of exams, as well as extraordinary and special calls. woth 100%
