Learning Goals

To develop research skills in education.
To learn methods and techniques for gathering research data.
To know techniques for processing and analyzing data obtained from research in education.
To recognize the content analysis as the fundamental method of analysis of qualitative data.
To perform statistical analysis in simple examples using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences).
To plan simple research projects in education

1. Fundaments of educational research.
2. Strategies for research in education.
3. Methods, techniques and tools for data collection in education: qualitative and quantitative approaches.
4. Data analysis in education: qualitative approach - content analysis;
quantitative approach ? from descriptive statistics to inferential statistics, parametric and non-parametric ways.
5. The research project: characterization and structural elements.

Teaching Methods

Various methodologies, with a predominance of group work activities and project work, with classes of exposition.
In the system of continuous assessment, the final result of combining various practical group work and individual work (20%) and a final analysis corresponding to a study conducted in research in education (80%).
In the system of final exam, the final result of a written practical test.
