Learning Goals

The course on Sport and Media embodying the domain knowledge that interest in the area of
sports journalism and the relationship of sports managers with media. Admittedly, the sport is
the most valuable content in the world of media. In this context, the ability to establish working
relationships with the media is an essential tool for professional sports managers.

Objectives:
a) To know the historical evolution and the Portuguese reality, but also the business models
associated with sports content on a global scale;
b) To train for exercise and domain solutions currently required to sports professionals
seeking to enhance the presence of products and sports services in newspapers, on radio,
television and the digital world;
c) Using the new lines of communication management in this territory of individuals and
institutions that are committed to maximum effectiveness.

Teaching Methods

The course is organized in lectures and tutorials, as indicated in the School Rules (REI) of the
University of Évora. The lectures are plenary and based on scientific method, valuing the
transmission of information, the interpretation of applied research results as well as a critical
attitude and scientific rigor in students. Are provided 10 hours of lectures. In addition to the oral
presentation is intended through questioning, check the acquisition of knowledge by students.

The final grade is the writing assessment, through a frequency, individual works or final exam.
All students must obtain 9.5 at least, otherwise you will not successfully complete the UC.
