Sustainable Development Goals

Learning Goals

Stimulate critical thinking and collaborative debate. Develop speculation skills to promote meaningful experiences centered on life, in digital or physical environments with a focus on relationships between people, artifacts and services, in integrated IxD UxD R&D processes.

a. Being able to discover a favorable context to provoke innovative interactive experiences in non-linear collaborative reflection environments;
b. Being able to summon experiment and collide inspiring references to provide new multi-sensory interactive experiences;
c. Know how to explore and integrate in the user experience to be Useful, Usable, Accessible, Reliable, Credible, Desirable, Inclusive, Valuable, Sustainable;
d. Be able to develop and integrate meta-skills of intuition and empathy; use various types of thinking, assisted by drawing and prototyping ideas;
e. Knowing how to communicate in different discursive dimensions, existing or inventing.

Contents

All disciplinary sub-areas of Design are identified and explored as a possibility of integration. Other areas of material and / or immaterial culture are invited to the process of speculation, reflection and experimentation whose complementarity amplifies the disciplinary field and reinforces the sense of opportunity for innovation.

1. Perspectives for Interaction Design and Experience Design: collaborative speculation on trends, possibilities and visions and holistic / hybrid / organic / fluid / dynamic / adaptive / integrated / regenerative and disruptive future scenarios, in physical and / or digital environments
2. Visual Thinking: Inspiration and Insight;
3. Design of Integrated Strategies;
4. Inspirational References and Design Culture;
5. Experimentation and Prototyping in IxD / UxD.

Teaching Methods

Lectures, debate, individual tutorial monitoring, discussion raised by the status of individual research projects developed by students, exploration and simulation of cases, viewing and debating videos and films, solving concrete problems, viewing other relevant iconographic material and classes in context.

Rating criteria:
a. Evidence of speculation skills, critical reflection, elaboration of inspiring ideographic mappings and disruptive visions of the future (20%);
b. Conceptual quality of the artifact (s) strategically integrating complementary areas of Design (20%);
c. Potential user experience (“WOW!”) (20%);
d. Know how to communicate in all discursive dimensions (20%);
e. Global quality and potential for Being Innovation (20%).
