Sustainable Development Goals

Learning Goals

This curricular unit convenes and synthesizes the approaches and subjects explored in the former curricular
units of Project, reinforcing the possibility of understanding this UC as a methodological research tool as well.
We intend to stimulate dialogue with several intervenient and synthesize information acquired into the project
activity, introducing and summarizing the subject of integration of special projects. The exercise will be
organized according to a complex program.
Objectives:
1. Consolidate the issue of advanced research in architecture
2. Dominate complex architectural programs
3. Consolidate the ability of critical observation and constructive analysis
4. Introduce issues related to integration and coordination of different areas of knowledge in a coherent whole
5. Consolidate knowledge about construction physics
6. Develop architectural drawing skiils and theoretical thought about the project

Contents

Subject: Synthesis: Research in project
1. Research methods in project
2. Complex architectural programs integrated as elements of the Design Project
3. Analysis of cases studies which complexity reflects a priori articulation of different knowledge in its
conception
4. Materials application
5. Infrastructure systems and construction coordination
6. Representation of Architecture: hand drawing, cad drawing, photomontage, model, theoretical justification,
oral presentation and project communication skills

Teaching Methods

Lessons will be taught in practical and laboratorial system, with a total of 12 hours weekly contact, more 6
tutorial attendance hours. The programmatic contents will be introduced by the teacher through classes with
audiovisual support, lectures, study visits and individual attendance, or in groups, of the students’ work. The
exercises will be developed in class, under the teacher’s guidance.
Evaluation is ruled only by continuous evaluation system, resulting on attendance of the students’ work along
the semester, and will be achieved based on demonstration of the dominion of taught contents. The students
must assist, mandatorily, to 60% of the classes, to be able to get a positive mark.
