With this UC it is intended that the student acquires competences, skills and apply and/or develop general and specific research methods
related to his/her research area.

Learning Goals

It is intended that students acquire competencies, skills and methods of general and specific research
related to their field of research. Therefore, their integration into a research group, under the scientific
guidance and in the context of a research project, will allow the students to acquire:
- Skills in specific and general methodologies that can contribute to their scientific training and the
success of their thesis project
- Ability to conceive, design and carry out research in their area, following the standards of quality and
integrity in scientific research.
-ability to write a scientific report

Contents

It comprises internship (s) in research groups, defined with the thesis supervisor and Course Commission
as appropriate to the thesis project, to complement the student´s training. Internships can include learning
or optimization of methodologies and techniques to be used during the thesis project. The internships
should be integrated in research projects in progress, in the research group. The internship may be in the
group where the student will develop his thesis project. In the end, the student should prepare a scientific
report.

Teaching Methods

The teaching methodology consists of Internship (s), guided by faculty with either component of PL
(Laboratory Practice) / TC (Field Work) or OT (Tutorial), preferably integrated into ongoing projects of the
research group.
The evaluation includes continuous assessment of the work developed and assessment of a written report
describing the work performed, namely on the optimization of specific methodologies.
