Learning Goals

Contextualized survey of the theoretical problematic of the musicological framework; Development of knowledge capacities of structuring and synthesis of the unit's content and the associated written and oral expression training.

- Introduction to the History of Musicology as a scientific field and its place in the context of the Humanities.
- Development issues in relation with the theoretical apparatus of Musicology.
- Elaboration of a research project - choosing a reserach topic its bibliography, project contents and scheduled phases of work.
- Research tools
- Supporting research institutions (archives, libraries, museums and other institutions).
- Methods and general rules of the research work (sources, manuscripts and bibliographic references).

Teaching Methods

Theoretical exposition of the main topics of the curricular unit, case studies, scientific discussions of the proposed student's works with tutorial accompaniment in what concerns the student's research project.
Evaluation:
- Research project developed by the student during the semester send to the professor and presented by the student at the end of the semester.
- Test focusing on theoretical and methodical questions of the musicological framework.
