Develop the technical and expressive characteristics of woodwinds and strings and control its specific application to classicism stylistic context.
Develop the orchestral functions.

Contents

Bowed string instruments:                               
- Development of their individual characteristics.          
- Woodwinds and brass:                             
- Development of their individual characteristics.
Analysis of representative orchestrations from the classical period.
Scoring for woodwind ensembles, brass and mixed.
Scoring for string orchestra.
Scoring for full classical orchestra.
It is the writing itself which allows students to understand not only the physical limits of the instruments, but also their different qualities in each register.

Teaching Methods

This curricular unit is taught in a small group class.
Listening and analyzing works with the from the orchestration perspective.
Write short orchestrations with the class.
Correction of the individual exercises but always with the observation and participation of the whole class.
Evaluation

. a final orchestration (TF);            
AV = (TLx0 ,3) + (Fx0,4) + (TFx0,3)
Minimum classroom sessions: 75% (except student workers).
Only students who fail the continuous evaluation can be evaluated by an examination, which may take place at the appeal time.
