Sustainable Development Goals

Learning Goals

At the end of this course students should:
1. - Experience the contact with the repertoire of Portuguese theater (namely with new dramaturgies).
2. - To develop and deepen the knowledge acquired in UCs previously taught, both within the theory and in the practice of the Scene.
3. - To find a theoretical basis for this practice, so as to be able to provide a well-founded and professional answer in the above mentioned areas, thus developing its capacity for autonomous artistic creation, while assuming the importance of the collective in the theater.
4. - Encourage interdisciplinarity and cooperation with students from other EA courses.
5. - Public presentation of the exercise / show.
With this, the following competencies should be developed:
a) Development of the capacity for analysis and dramaturgical research;
b) - Exercise of the process of construction of the character
c) Stimulation of creative work
d) Contribution to the maturing of actor's work.

Contents

The realization of a Theatrical Project / Staging from one or more texts of National Authors (Classics and, or, Contemporaries), extracted from the Portuguese Drama, constitutes the nature of this curricular unit.
a) In a first phase and after choosing the text that will be the basis for the essentially laboratory work, a dramaturgical analysis of the text will be carried out.
b) Afterwards, the students will be organized into work groups, acquiring skills in the areas of composition and architecture of the show, scenography, costumes, sonography, lighting and special effects and production.
c) Afterwards, the work of rehearsals will begin, during which students will be confronted with the problems that arise during the setting up of a show: the development of "formative improvisation"; construction of the starting situation; discovery of a Vorgang; use of the subtext; strategy for the organization of proposals for action; etc.

Teaching Methods

Starting from the dramaturgical analysis, discovering and realizing what Vorgang is, until the construction of the characters, happening naturally by the work of counterena, the students participate like actors in the assembly of a spectacle.
The strategy will privilege experimentation, anchored in what we call "step-by-step" construction. This experimentation and reflection are the basis for all the action and the source of privileged learning in the curricular unit.

Method of evaluation:

To be evaluated, the student (with the exception of the student worker) must attend 80% of the sessions.

a) - Attendance, commitment and quality of participation (30%)
b) - Seizure of contents, acquired skills, evolution and artistic quality (50%)
c) - Reflection or daily (20%)

Final presentation
At the end of the school year, the staging will be presented to the school community, as well as to the general public, during the semester.
