Learning Goals

• Mastering the technical means of capturing image by image: hardware, software, video cameras and lighting;
• To increase knowledge and understanding of different techniques of film / video animation;
• Understand and experiment with various animation techniques;
• Provide the students with reading ability and the animated image analysis;
Mastering the language of animation, trajectory, speed, acceleration / deceleration, pause, advance;
deformation and key positions.

1.1. The equipment needed to capture images and animation sequences .
1.2. Software - possibilities and limits.
2. Language of animation.
2.1. Trajectory.
2.2. Animation to an image by position or two images.
2.3. Acceleration, deceleration or constant speed.
2.4. Pause.
2.5. Passe.
2.6. Deformation.
2.7. Anticipation.
2.8. Residual motion.
2.9. Key positions as an essential expression of the animation.

Teaching Methods

The projection of a set of short animated films and documentaries will be used to broaden the knowledge of the techniques, aesthetics and manufacturing processes of animation cinema. In students will do exercises using image-by-image capture means.

EVALUATION

In the NORMAL SEASON assessment students may choose one of two schemes: Continuous or Final Assessment.

1. CONTINUOUS EVALUATION SCHEME

Evaluation Components:
a) Class participation: 20%;
b) Work developed during the period with the accompaniment of the teacher, which must be submitted, at least, to a periodic evaluation with public disclosure of the classifications: 40%;
c) Presentation and defense of the work developed during the classes, which occurs during the "Regular Season Evaluations": 40%.


2. FINAL EVALUATION SCHEME

a) Work developed during the period with the teacher's accompaniment: 40%;
b) Examination based on the contents taught: 60%.
