At the end of the course the student have acquired:
- Knowledge in the Precision Agriculture (PA) fundamentals and respective applications.
- To develop skills in structuring, gathering, processing, analyzing and making decisions regarding
georeferenced agricultural databases.
- Critical and analytical thinking on the binomial useful technologies and agriculture activities.
- Project writing and oral communication skills applied in the presentation of results.
- Reading, understanding and evaluating scientific literature related with the subject of the course.
- Knowledge in the Precision Agriculture (PA) fundamentals and respective applications.
- To develop skills in structuring, gathering, processing, analyzing and making decisions regarding

- Precision Agriculture Cycle
- Yield and yield quality limiting factors
- Soil and plants variability surveys
- Soil and plants smart sampling
- VRT maps (nutrients, water, ...)
- Plant monitoring and plant technical interventions optimization.
- Economic aspects, the decision-making and Variable rate technologies (nutrients, water, pesticides): i) in
real time; and ii) based on prior information (historical data).
- Look at the system or look at the parcel?
- Study cases: dry land and irrigated cereals, pasture, vineyards, Industrial horticulture; fruits; forest, etc..
- PA seminars

Teaching Methods
Theoretical and Practical classes and seminars.
In the theoretical classes will be introduced the key concepts associated with the PA and in the practical
classes will be developed concrete exercises from what have been learned in the theoretical classes. As a
support for this type of classes, resources will be available in the Moodle (Remote Work) and the work of
the students will be guided by specific objectives to be achieved in the different programmatic contents.
Throughout the course will also be promoted specific seminars where experts in the area will be invited,
mostly associated with the business world.
