This curricular unit aims at familiarizing with the structure, objectives and dynamics of academic events, by attending a Scientific Conference or Colloquium linked to each student's research area, or by organizing an Scientific Journey applied to that same area.

1. Familiarisation with the structure, objectives and dynamics of academic events, by attending a Congress or
Scientific colloquium linked to each student's area of investigation, or through the organization of an applied scientific seminar
to that same area.
2. Complementary deepening of advanced training through assistance to events of a scientific nature, chosen from
individualized form by each student in coordination with the curricular unit's teacher.
3. Acquisition and development of scientific communication and exchange skills.
4. Development of the ability to assimilate and synthesize scientific contents, through summaries of the
conferences and communications.
5. Development of the ability to analyze the assimilated contents and the ability to articulate a coherent scientific discourse
through the realization of a critical report presented to the professor of the discipline.

Contents
The curricular unit does not have syllabus defined in a systematic way, since these contents
adapt, individually, to the themes of the Congresses and Conferences to be selected with the students, always within the areas
of scientific work of each doctoral student. Thus, the teacher carries out syllabus of a specific scientific nature
for each doctoral student.

Teaching Methods
Methodology:
Applied research on scientific events.
Literature search on the theme(s) of the selected events.
Preparation and analysis meetings with the teacher and permanent contact through the Moodle platform.
Evaluation:
Preparation of a critical report of the communications heard and their contribution to the student's personal research, in order to
demonstrate the use of the scientific content of the event in the individual research of the doctoral student.
