Sustainable Development Goals

Learning Goals

It is intended that students should:
- Know how to prescribe exercise for the general population.
- Know the results of applying different types of laboratory and field tests available for assessing the condition and further development of exercise programs;
- Know monitor the development of individual programs and group exercise.
- Understand the effects that exercise programs that will develop will result in individuals in whom they will apply those same programs.
-Take into account the implications that the application of different types of programs is likely to highlight the different components of physical fitness of the population.
- Collect and interpret critically relevant scientific information on the topics addressed;
- Acquire the ability to communicate ideas and scientific knowledge, in oral and written form, organized in a coherent language in the framework of this curricular unit.

Contents

1. The use of data obtained in functional assessment.
2. Energy calculations
3. The programming exercise programs
4. Exercise prescription in adults
5. Exercise prescription in young each.

Teaching Methods

The unit is organized in T, P classes and tutorials according to the regulation of the UE. T are plenary and based on the scientific meth. emphasizing the search for information, the interpretation of experimental results and a critical and scientific rigor in students.

In P classes students must participate actively in the preparation and execution of work, in group discussions about the activities, and on the elaboration of individual reports. These classes are an oportunity for students develop their skills in exerc. presc. in real situations.

The student assessment includes answering to questions in the classes, and presentation by the students of relevant scientific articles and their discussion with the teacher. Written evaluation will be carried out through a frequency or a final exam.

Despite the work attendance is essential to success in the course, relevance will be also given to working at distance. This will be done primarily through the provision of resources in Moodle.

Assessment

The students, divided into groups, will promote the prescription of exercises among their colleagues based on data collected in other courses.
Assessment will be centred on the self-regulation of students' learning, where they will receive feedback on their performance at different times throughout the lessons, developing their capacity for self-regulation and autonomous learning to improve their work and assess the correctness of the presented prescription.
