This UC contributes, through its programmatic contents, to the understanding of development as a set of transformational processes that occur throughout the lifecycle and the theoretical models of developmental psychology.

II - Development throughout the life cycle
1. Aspects of psychological development in the prenatal phase
2. Aspects of psychological development in childhood
3. Aspects of psychological development in adolescence and emerging adulthood
4. Aspects of psychological development in adulthood and in the elderly

III - The construction of development trajectories throughout the life cycle
1. Life paths and construction of adaptive and maladaptive development paths
2. Risk and vulnerability, protection and resilience factors and mechanisms
3. Aging successfully throughout the lifecycle

Teaching Methods

Teaching methodologies 1. Presentation of programmatic topics; 2. Group activities for reflection and discussion of program topics. 3. Guidance on the autonomous work of students, with indication of appropriate readings for each topic of the program and for the objectives of the curricular unit. The university's e-learning platform [moodle] (https://www.moodle.uevora.pt/) will be used both for the presentation of work materials and for discussion forums on topics related to the syllabus.

Assessment Methodologies. Continuous assessment involves taking a written test (60% of the final grade and the preparation of a group assignment, which allows for the deepening of topics in the program (40% of the final grade). Final assessment involves taking a written test , including this one, in-depth questions (100% of the final grade).
