Learning Goals

In this curricular unit, students should acquire knowledge and skills advanced level , which allows them to communicate effectively as well as a therapeutic relationship in nursing with the child and the family.
The student must:
Develop functional communication skills, self-reflection, and self-analysis
Knowing the intervention process of the help relationship in child / youth communication and family
It is intended to develop scientific, technical, and human knowledge and skills aimed at approaching communication with the child / youth and family throughout their life cycle providing care in response to their growth and development and maximizing their health.
As learning results, it is intended that the student is able to:
• Develop communication techniques to assist the child / youth and family in maximizing their health
• Promote the growth and development of children and young people
• Use the principles of communication in the relationship with the child / youth and family

Contents

• Communication with the child / youth and family, according to the stage of development, literacy, specific situation and clinical context;
• Interview with the child / youth and / in the family, developing skills;
• The use of play as a resource and communication strategy;
• Communication with children / young people in special situations and with special needs

Teaching Methods

METHODS OF TEACHING:
Expository and participatory approach, encouraging critical and reflective thinking of students.
Experts Seminars
Analysis of articles and reference documents.
Group dynamics and analyzing situations.
Tutorial orientation for student support in the monitoring and development of group work and clarify doubts.
ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY: The evaluation will be individual through the elaboration of a work and it must be presented. Each evaluation element must have a rating equal to or higher than 9.5 values, to ensure success in the UC. A student is considered approved if he / she obtains a final classification equal to or higher than 10 values.
