• Evaluation and diagnosis process in the person with complex wounds
• Basic principles of clinical microbiology and microbiological diagnosis methods of infection
• Methods of destruction of microorganisms and the role of antimicrobials
• Antimicrobial agents, hygiene and wounds
• Wound care: innovation and cost-effectiveness/effectiveness
• Acute wound infection: diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infection
• Chronic wound infection: diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infection
• Prevention of cross infection transmission of infection
• Mobility and wounds
• Analysis and discussion of clinical cases
• Approach to research methodologies and research:
o Search in scientific databases
o Approach to Quantitative Methodology
o Approach to Qualitative Methodology)

Teaching Methods

Priority will be given to methodologies that stimulate the personal and professional development of students, based on research, analysis and discussion of content, leading to the development of skills in the Process of Diagnostic Evaluation of Wounds, based on the integrated approach to the Person with Complex Wound and their caregivers.
The development of content has a theoretical and technical-scientific basis, combining theoretical exposition of programmatic content with classroom exercises; analysis and discussion of cases; role-playing; seminars with experts and research and synthesis work.

Assessment

Continuous assessment will consist of an individual written test (100%)
Exam evaluation - Individual written test (100%)
The student cannot have an evaluation lower than 10 points, on a scale of 0 to 20, in any of the assessment dimensions.
