Objectives:
To know the anatomy and physiology of the skin;
Understand the processes of healing;
Knowing the methods of nutritional status assessment and the role of different nutrients in the development of the healing process;
Understand the role of prevention in wound treatment
Recognize the role of education and promotion of self-care for people with complex wound
Know indicators of Quality of Life in the person with chronic wound and their caregivers.

Demonstrates skills of reflection on the importance of promotion of self-care of the Person with complex wound and their caregivers.
Develops capacity for analysis and reflection about the impact of the chronic wound on the quality of life of the person and family/caregivers.

The role of prevention in wound care
Teaching Methods
Strategies will be selected to stimulate the acquisition of knowledge and skills by students, coresponsability of them by teaching learning process and participatory methodologies, with special emphasis on cases from real contexts, with discussion in the classroom. The hours of tutorials will be managed in person or remotely, individually or in groups, to facilitate the development process and students skills consolidation.
Assessment
The assessment is continuous and includes the active participation of students in the different activities proposed. For students who opt for continuous assessment is planned to carry out a valuation point corresponding to 100% of the final grade. Failure to do this time of evaluation involves the automatic change to the final exam.
Students scoring less than 10 points, are subject to review, in accordance with the academic regulations of the University of Evora.
