Understand the systemic dimension of educational practices in Early Childhood Education as a guarantee of children's rights within a framework of quality education;
To know and critically analyze the documents that regulate practice in Pre/Primary-school: the teacher Professional Performance Profile; Curriculum Guidelines, Pre/Primary-school learning goals and Classroom Curricular Project;
To know and critically analyze different pedagogical approaches in Pre/Primary-school in order to support future choices;
To understand the contribution of different teaching strategies and learning processes to the learning of all children;
To Understand diverse planning and evaluation systems, analyzing its instruments and processes;
To develop skills of observation and analysis of educational situations;
To develop a reflective attitude, creating habits of research, selection, and analysis of information able to inquire educational practices.

b. Class curriculum project as a conceptual and organizational tool for practice
c. Curriculum from different countries (eg Australia; Spain; Brazil)
3. Curriculum Development: Observation, Planning, Action, Evaluation Observation, planning and evaluation processes and instruments for learning
a. Observation, planning and evaluation processes and instruments for learning
4. Pedagogical models for childhood education (Modern School Movement; High-scope; Régio-Emília Approach; Waldorf; Forest schools): fundamentals and action
5. Ways to learn and teach in early childhood education

Teaching Methods

. Cooperative management of the learning process;
- Lectures with debate;
- Texts analysis and discussion;
- Fieldwork in Pre-school and Primary schools.
- Conducting research with classroom presentation;
- Interactive processes and resource sharing through e-learning platform Moodle and e-mail
- Individual or group tutorials.
Assessment components:
A - Group Research with a classroom presentation chosen among the program contents;
B - Individual reflective account about one dimension of teaching in Pre-school and Primary-school, based on the field-work undertaken by each student.
The final mark is obtained using the formula: (A+B)/2
