Promote the development of capacities of research planning, strategies and organization of methodologies; resources and collecting data for results production in Arts research, specifically musical performance, composition and musicology.
Development of knowledge capacities of structuring and synthesis of the unit´s content and the associated written and oral expression training.

Teaching Methods

Students are introduced to library, fieldwork and research methodologies in the performing arts, composition and musicology. The uc has a strong practical component; students will develop practical skills including preparing for research, data collection, archiving and storage. Students prepare a research proposal, with guidance from the course instructor, based on a topic of his/her choice within the fields of the course.

Continuous Evaluation:
Written assignment on a research topic (50%)
Review of a scientific article (50%)

Final Evaluation
Written exam (100%)
