Provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of ceramic and glass product design, by exercise and develop their analytical, critical and methodological skills.
Skills to be acquired:
- Recognize features and applications of key technologies and materials of the ceramic ans glass industry sectors;
- Recognize and understand national and international trends of public and markets evolution, considering the ceramic and glass industry sectors;
- To develop research capacity and validation tools applyed to design options based on methodological principles of design;
- Understand project specifics and know how to exploit appropriate design solutions;
- Drive the design skills to respond to a briefing based on professional assumptions.

Teaching Methods

he classes will be held by means of the sharing and discussion of acquired knowledge and through the promotion of debates on the issues addressed in each class. The practical component will be build on the launching and monitoring of a project design exercise focused in the area of ceramic and glass production.
The evaluation of student performance is mixed and shall be made through the analysis of their attendance and participation in class, as well as the intermediate assessment of results achieved and, at the end of the semester through the final evaluation by a jury.

Mid assessment: 40% Final assessment: 50%
