TEC course proposes a conceptual and methodological discussion on the basis of transversal (educational, social and community) approaches to contemporary theatrical creation, in a changing world.

Contents

The concept of Theater Education and Community Theater. Objectives and methods.
Theater and Education in relation to: Theater and Performance contributions education and community psychology
Principal references: Freire, Boal, Brecht, Brook, Barba
Global perspectives on approaches in theater education and community.
Aesthetic, ethical and political issues associated with practice.
Contemporary issues, reinvention of identities in the search for a community dramaturgy.
Plurality of techniques and methods coming from the contemporary theater, performace and popular cultures

Teaching Methods

Processes of articulation between performative creation with identified social and educational objectives will be used. The student will be encouraged to do audiovisual material analysis work with documentaries mobilizing theater and performance technical knowledge to the creative needs of non-professional and diverse individuals and groups. We will use expository methodologies, presentation / discussion of concepts, debate and critical reflection. Dialogic relationship was privileged using techniques and participatory dynamics.
