Presentation
It is intended that the student identifies the main elements of the medieval Islamic civilization between the 8th and 15th centuries, that they know and learn to use the fundamental bibliography and that they know how to identify the main characteristics of the material culture of the Islamic world.

• Recognize the archaeological components that may be found in any work research and that are characterizing occupancy in Islamic times / in al-Andalus.
• Critically analyze the main trends of research in order to properly fit the data materials and historical and its actual importance and significance;
Skills:
• Provide appropriate methodologies for the identification and pursuit of material realities of the Islamic period peninsular;
• Characterize the balance traces of existing Islamic period in al-Andalus - in urban and rural areas - and other Iberian areas, as well as the material culture associated with them;
• To acquire work skills to participate and come to direct archaeological excavations in this area, as well as to study unpublished collections.

Teaching Methods
Classroom teaching in the classroom, using audiovisual information. It is planned to
carry out visits to museums and exhibitions as well as outlets for the ground to
observe in situ archaeological evidence of the time under study. There will be practical
classes with material handling and reading plans and 3D models of archaeological
sites. There will be a frequency of written test (50%), an intermediate assessment, by
submitting written work on a specific theme (40%) and will take into account the
attendance and participation of students in (10%).
