Presentation

This seminar aims to provide trainees with contact, reflection and debate on relevant and current topics in Gerontology and Health, based on the presentation of themes/problems and the discussion of cases/search for solutions.

1. Provide students with contact, reflection and debate on relevant and current topics in Gerontology and Health;
2. Promote critical thinking on the issues of active and successful aging in the context of life span in contemporary societies;
3. Provide case studies.

We intend that, at the end of the seminar sessions, students will have acquired the following skills:
- Understand the interdisciplinary relevance of the plural problems of the aging of the population;
- Know how to frame, develop and discuss the research and intervention problems in Gerontology with an in-depth understanding of the phenomena of aging, based on relevant and up-to-date scientific literature.



Contents

1. Cycle of seminars or lectures on current research and intervention in gerontology and elderly health:
a) guest speaker sessions.
b) sessions co-organized by post-graduate students.
2. presentation and discussion of case studies.



Teaching Methods

The teaching methodology consists essentially of participating in seminar sessions presented by professors and specialists in Gerontology, and organized with the participation of students themselves, covering the different areas of research and intervention on current issues.
Continuous Evaluation or Evaluation by final exam:
- 1 summary report of the seminar sessions: 25%
- 1 paper (scientific article) related with the seminar topics: 75%
