Teaching Methods

The unit is organized in theoretical and practical group sessions and tutorials.
The collective sessions of theoretical nature are plenary and based on the scientific method, valuing the research of information, the interpretation of results and the development of a critical attitude and scientific rigor.
In practical sessions, the fundamentals of the methods, the experimental procedures and the quantitative problems are solved. In these sessions, students organized by groups should: actively participate in the preparation and execution of the work, in the discussion of the results, and individually prepare the work reports.
The assessment is individual. The laboratory (40%) includes: scale observation of individual student participation in groups; answer questions in class; presentation and discussion by students of relevant scientific articles and evaluation of reports. The theoretical assessment (60%) includes the option for completion of 2 written tests or a final exam.
