Objectives:

- Understand the positioning of operations in an organisation, and how operations can contribute to its competitiveness;
- Know the main decisions of operations management in an organisation;
- Know common methods and techniques of analysis in operations management;
- Know to use the available software to build tools of analysis and support to decision making in operations management.
Skills:
At the end of the course students must show the following skills:
- Ability of abstraction and logical reasoning;
- Ability to communicate and expose their points of view;
- Ability to analyse processes and practices in operations management;
Ability to identify problems in operation management and use the suitable tools for diagnosis, analysis and decision making support.

Teaching Methods

Different topics of operations management are presented in classes or e-learning sessions, which illustrated with practical cases. In the analysis of practical cases is promoted the critical spirit, as well as the team work in classes.
For the final grade is obtained through a knowledge evaluation in a written text and in this exam students must have at minimum 10 on 20 points.
