Communicates therapeutically with patient, family and healthcare team;
Implements bereavement programs for patients/family members;
Implements, evaluates and monitors personalized care plans with coordinated intervention by the CP team;
It promotes CP training programs for different professionals and/or develops a team intervention project.
Develops research practice, with the publication of a scientific article.

Contents

In this CU the trainee must carry out during their internships and the preparation of a final report, with the purpose of demonstrating the level of expert in palliative care (PC).
You must define the skills, objectives you want to achieve and the activities you propose to perform during the internship.
Clinical practice will be carried out under the guidance and supervision of a specialist/master in the area of PC, and an educational advisor:
mandatorily in 2 services/teams with the following typology, with the duration of 200h+178h, respectively, in each:
Community PC Support Teams; Intra-hospital PC Support Teams; PC Units (inpatient)
The Report must contain several parts:
Description and characterization of the organizational model of the service(s) or Team(s)
Describe in a reflective way the skills acquired during the clinical practice; Describe the project of training / intervention or research in service
The total hours of the UC include 160 hours for report.

Teaching Methods

Methods that encourage individual and professional development of the student are preferred, based on a work of reflection, critical questioning and continuous analysis, properly guided and framed in group work sessions and tutorial guidance.
Individual tutorial guidance sessions are the resource to allow discussion and substantiation of the work to be developed.
From the total hours of UC 160h are used to prepare the report.
The internship will be assessed by the clinical advisor, pedagogical advisor and student, through the application of a set of criteria related to specialist skills. It will have a weighting of 50% in the final grade of the UC (35% professor and clinical advisor + 15% student).
The Final Report will be discussed in public examinations, before a jury appointed for that purpose, by the legally and statutorily competent body, in relation to scientific/technical quality, and has a weighting of 50% in the final grade.
