Seeks to acquire and develop knowledge and skills in the domain of professional, ethical and legal responsibility. It is essential to integrate ethical, deontological and legal dimensions, to lead to action. As learning outcomes, it is expected that the student:
a) Identify the ethical and deontological dimensions, integrated in decision making;
b) Support the decision on principles, values and ethical standards;
c) Discuss the fundamentals of decision making and the specific praxis as nurse;
d) Reflect critically the process and outcomes of decision making.

Contents
I. Fundamentals of ethical decision making
1. Ethical Fundamentals. Ethical principles in health care. Fundamentals of nursing ethics . Ethical decision making : models , methods and uncertainties .
2 .Deontological Fundaments. Professional Deontology. Analysis of the Code in the light of people's rights. Relation with the stated positions.
3. Specialized commons competencies - professional responsibility, ethics and law.
II. Discussion of issues and cases. Readings and interpretations of problem situations. Development of alternatives. Fundamentals of choices. Evaluation of processes and outcomes.

Teaching Methods
The teaching-learning methodologies includes theoretical exposition, analysis of texts and reflective discussion. Focus on the students and are predominantly active and participatory, with discussion of arguments, defining the problems and search for better alternatives. We will make use of documents, opinions issued by Nurses Order , National Council of Ethics for the Life Sciences, and other sources in the area.
The evaluation methodology consists of an individual, representing a in-depth review and critique, in essay format, of a topic or a case (as students chooses), encompassing the ethical and deontological dimensions).
