Learning Goals

Objectives: Provide students of biomedical sciences with an interdisciplinary Bio-Psycho-Social understanding of the core aspects of the phenomena of Human Development throughout the Life Span (HD-LS) in contemporary societies; Enable students with the main knowledge about the context and process of emergence of HD-LS as an autonomous scientific field; Characterize the theoretical-methodological development of HD-LS; Develop critical thinking and the ability to reflectively analyze the issues of human development in contemporary societies;
We intend that, at the end of schools and learning, students will have acquired the following skills: It comprises an interdisciplinary company of the object of study of HD-LS in the context of biomedical sciences; Understands the main aspects of the Bio-Psycho-Social interdisciplinary approach to describe the dilemmas and challenges of HD-LS; Synthetise the interdisciplinary perspective of HD-LS in the context of health promotion and well being.

Teaching Methods

Presentation (the theoretical (T)), classroom-based, and can eventually be applied sessions via platform moodle-uevora. training and simulation of case studies on paper and pencil and computer support (practical classes (P)); Individual and Grupal Tutorial Support (OT) to the development of a research paper about one of the contents syllabus; Preparation of a work of synthesis based on all the skills developed in the form of portfolio that contributes to 100% of the final grade.
